Three films from the years just before the machines could talk: a founding myth about loneliness, a love story in which nobody argues about whether the machine can think, and a test in which the examiner turns out to be the one examined. Beside them, what Watson, Siri and a chatbot posing as a boy from Odessa could actually do. Then, in 2024, the builders reach for the film.
